My name is Tia Nelis and I am from Illinois. I think it’s very important for people with disabilities to be able to vote. I think that it’s a privilege that everybody would have that opportunity to go to the polls and vote for the people that are making decisions about their lives. I think it’s mostly also important that people in the world know that people with disabilities should be voting along with everybody else because those people in Washington, D.C. and other places are making decisions about our lives and what we say "nothing about me without me" so that’s why I feel it’s very important for people with disabilities to be able to vote and make their vote count because who knows better about their lives than the people themselves. I think many people think that people with disabilities can’t vote and don’t know all the issues and that’s why they are trying to stop them from voting but I also think that’s wrong because many people without disabilities don’t know about the issues and don’t know all the things about voting and they still get to vote so why can’t we.
